Futuristic into the future with the Golf Mk 8

With the 8th generation comes the new edition of the German world car VW Golf Mk 7. What is different in Golf Mk 8 to Golf Mk 7? And what remains the same? The Golf 8 also shines with the typical feeling of the VW Golf. Visually, the typical Golf design has only become slightly more modern. The Tornado line now closes from the rear people with the door handles to the front and the headlights are slightly wider than the predecessor, but still a standard look to recognize. The interior of the Golf 8 has changed a lot to Golf Mk 7. Many analogue instruments have given way to the digital version: It already starts with the doors, as these can now even be opened completely without a key and only using a cell phone. A digital cockpit is also designed to provide a better overview. There are only a few switches and buttons left in the equipment; operation is mainly via touchscreen. The driver can call up individual live instruments. The assistance system also equips the compact car with even more safety functions and warning systems. The Golf 8 is one of the first European vehicles to master car-to-x technology and can forward data from emergency vehicles, breakdowns or traffic jams to the system. As standard, the compact car is only equipped with 2.0-liter displacement for the three petrol and two diesel variants - there is no 1.6-liter version. The Golf's range varies from 90 hp to 300 hp, depending of course on the engine equipment. That's because the new Golf also comes in a variety of models, including the Golf GTD, Golf GTI, Golf R, Golf GTI Clubsports, Golf Variant and two plug-in hybrids. In the R variant, the Golf Mk 8 comes with an all-wheel-drive instead of a front-wheel drive. And despite the many innovations, the driving experience remains dynamic and safe, just like the classic model from the manufacturer Volkswagen. The solid handling is convincing together with the very good chassis. When driving over broken roads, the Golf Mk 8 perfectly compensates for bumps. During fast cornering, the system selectively brakes the individual wheels and perfectly adapts shock absorbers with the comfortable suspension to the driving behaviour.
